| Facebook registers One Trillion Page views Every Month Posted: 10 Sep 2011 10:52 PM PDT Google updated the list of "most visited websites" last month and I don't know how but I missed to share that data with you. Well there is not much of a surprise in the listing, Facebook tops the chart with more than 880 million unique visitors followed by YouTube and Yahoo with 800 million and 590 million visitors each. Past June, Facebook received One Trillion page views from a registered user base of 750+ million members. That's really a lot and since then Facebook has successfully managed to gain One Trillion page views each month. You must be wondering how come 860 million unique visitors used Facebook when only 750+ million people are registered with Facebook. Well, Facebook Pages and Groups are open to everyone, social media is growing and people are promoting their products and services through this social media like crazy, that's where the rest of the page views may have come from. Anyways, Facebook has revealed astonishing stats about the biggest social network in the world. In total, people spend more than 700 billion minutes on Facebook in an average month. Not only that, each user, on average visits 1150 pages on Facebook which is about 9 times more than page views registered by an average user on YouTube. Facebook is not just a social network, it is a phenomenon. The universe maybe expanding every second, but the world has shrunk due to Internet esp. | Amazing Animated Optical Illusions Posted: 10 Sep 2011 10:09 PM PDT We have seen optical illusions and have cherished them since our childhood. Basic illusions are simple to understand, they are created due to arrangement of images, effect of colors, impact of light source etc. which results in several misleading effects in the picture. You must have tried to figure out all the 12 images in the picture that is formed by using multiple layers of different photographs. For a normal human being, it is impossible to find all the twelve because our brain can't figure what it hasn't observed previously, therefore each optical illusion appears different to different people. This is an interesting aspect of optical illusions. But, today, I am going to share another form of optical illusion a.k.a. Animated Optical Illusion in which an animated picture is created using 6 layers of the same picture and those layer are cut in stripes of the same distance, when this is animated image is seen from a slide with equally spaced stripes, the images appears to moving. I hope that these animated optical illusions can be used to created 3D models of organic chemical compounds, that would be a real help to students studying organic chemistry. How animated illusions work and how they are created is explained in the video below. Enjoy. Here's the video of Animated Optical Illusions:-
